How and Where to Watch: Uganda vs Libya Live on beIN SPORTS
Uganda and Libya meet on Matchday 2 of Group H in the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers. Both teams opened their campaigns with draws and will now look for their first victory of the group stage.
Uganda will host Libya on Tuesday, September 29, on Matchday 2 of Group H in the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers. The match will be played at Hoima City Stadium in Hoima, with kickoff scheduled for 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT. How Uganda Arrive
Uganda opened its qualifying campaign with an encouraging 1-1 away draw against Tunisia at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Radès.
The hosts took the lead in the 12th minute, but the Cranes responded during the second half. Rogers Mato equalized in the 68th minute after being played through by Nathan Asiimwe, finishing to make it 1-1.
Paul Put’s team therefore collected a point from its opening match before returning home to face Libya.
Uganda has already secured its place at AFCON 2027 because it will co-host the tournament alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
How Libya Arrive
Libya also opened the qualifiers with a draw, although it needed a dramatic late comeback to rescue a point against Botswana.
The Zebras went into halftime with a 2-0 advantage after Tumisang Orebonye scored twice, finding the net in the 30th and 42nd minutes.
Libya finally responded in the closing stages. Maruwan Alhibeeshi pulled one back in the 87th minute before Ezoo El Mariamy converted a penalty in the sixth minute of stoppage time to complete the 2-2 comeback.
The result gave Libya one point before its first away fixture of the qualifying campaign.
A Different Qualification Battle in Group H
All four teams in Group H opened with one point: Tunisia and Uganda drew 1-1, while Libya and Botswana played out a 2-2 draw.
The qualification equation, however, is different from most groups. Because Uganda has already qualified automatically as a co-host, only the highest-placed team among Tunisia, Libya and Botswana will claim the group's additional place at AFCON 2027.
That makes every point against the Cranes potentially significant for Libya. Uganda, meanwhile, can use these competitive fixtures as part of its preparation for the tournament it will co-host in 2027.
