Tunisia vs Botswana | Highlights | 2027 AFCON Qualifiers
Tunisia and Botswana played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in Rades on Monday as Matchday 2 of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers continued across the continent.
Thatayaone Kgamanyane gave the Zebras the lead after 37 minutes, but Tunisia responded through Hazem Mastouri, who struck twice either side of halftime to turn the contest in favour of the hosts.
Botswana showed their resilience, however, and drew level on the hour mark when Lebogang Ditsele found the net to ensure the points were shared.
The result leaves both Tunisia and Botswana on two points in Group H, with Uganda and Libya due to meet on Tuesday.
There is an added dimension to the section with Uganda already assured of their place at the finals as one of the three co-hosts alongside Kenya and Tanzania. Only the highest-placed side outside of Uganda will therefore qualify from Group H, placing added importance on every point collected during the six-match campaign.
Monday's other Matchday 2 fixtures also produced important results across Groups E and F.
DR Congo maintained their perfect start with a 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe in Harare, with Yoane Wissa scoring one and creating another for Samuel Moutoussamy before Marshall Munetsi pulled one back for the hosts late on.
The result took DR Congo to six points from two matches at the top of Group E.
Equatorial Guinea picked up their first victory of the campaign in the same section as Loren Zuniga scored inside the opening minute of a 1-0 win over Sierra Leone in neutral Yaounde.
DR Congo lead the group with six points, followed by Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea on three each, while Sierra Leone are still searching for their first point.
In Group F, Burkina Faso moved onto four points following a 1-0 victory over Central African Republic in Casablanca.
Teenager Aboubacar Camara scored the decisive goal on the hour mark in only his second senior international appearance.
Mauritania, who have three points, and Benin, who have one, complete their Matchday 2 programmes when they meet in Abidjan on Tuesday.
