Sports Burst Transfer Window Special - EPL's Billion Dollar Transfer Binge
Premier League clubs go deadline day nuts on a special Sports Burst edition.

1) EPL continues spending splurge on transfer deadline day
Each time it seems that there aren't enough decent players in the world of football for the EPL to keep on shattering transfer records year after year, the league comes up with a cunning workaround to keep the financial juices flowing.
In the summer of 2016, that crazy plan is to utterly overpay on an almost immoral level for average football fodder on a repeated basis. This saw the money spent by the Premier League clubs on Wednesday morning in the UK hit $1.3 billion, up around a quarter-of-a billion from last year.
That figure is set to rise even more as Wednesday progresses with some last minute panic buys on the final day of the transfer window. Probably from Everton and Chelsea. So far though, no news on the big elephant in the room, James Rodriguez.
2) 22 clubs fight for Jack Wilshere signing
Arsenal releasing midfielder, Jack Wilshere, into the loan market has caused quite the kerfuffle across Europe. England's Daily Mirror claims that 22 teams have expressed an interest in Wilshire including Roma and Juventus.
The England player is no doubt in a luxurious private jet circling Europe waiting for the best offer to pop along. However, the BBC is reporting that Roma have the best chance of landing the very talented, but extremely injury-prone Arsenal man.
3) Balotelli set for Nice time in France as Spurs push for Sissoko
Liverpool have hustled Mario Balotelli into another private plane and packed their unwanted forward off to Nice where he is expected to sign for the Ligue Un club on a one-year loan deal. After which the whole process will have to begin again in 12-months-time.
One of the latest deals done on Wednesday might well be for Moussa Sissoko. The Newcastle midfielder has left the France camp to take care of his club affairs and supposedly seal a deal to move to Tottenham for a fee of around $39 million. Well, that's what the Championship club would like, but Spurs are holding out for less.
4) Man City continue locker room clear out as Chelsea make desperate bid for defenders
In a move that Joe Hart wasn’t expecting a week ago, the England goalkeeper has completed a one-year loan deal with Torino.
Manchester City transfer disaster, Wilfried Bony, is set to sign for Stoke City on a loan deal. Which does not exactly get the juices flowing. Bony cost City $36 million a year-and-a-half ago.
5) Everton and Chelsea set for deadline day panic buys
Everton are still after a striker. Porto’s Yacine Brahimi might well become a Goodison Park goal-getter in a $45 million move. $45 million!
And Chelsea look like further strip-mining poor Valencia by making a deadline day move for centerback, Aymen Adennour. David Luiz has also been linked with a return to the club. Ahem.
