Royals Outfielder Bonifacio Handed 80-Game Ban For Using Steroids
The MLB suspended Jorge Bonifacio after he tested positive for steroids, it was announced on Saturday.
Kansas City Royals right fielder Jorge Bonifacio has been suspended for 80 MLB games after testing positive for the steroid Boldenone.
The league announced the sanction on Saturday, the 24-year-old's suspension to begin at the start of the season.
This is Bonifacio's first positive test for steroids.
Bonifacio batted .255 with 17 home runs and 40 RBIs in 113 games for the Royals in 2017.
Prior to last season, he was the Royals' sixth overall prospect in 2015, according to MLB Pipeline.
