Ramos Takes Aim at Sterling Play-Acting
Sergio Ramos posted a video to prove his innocence amidst accusations of stamping on Raheem Sterling during Spain's defeat to England.
Sergio Ramos posted a Twitter video on Wednesday in an effort to vindicate himself against accusations that he stamped on Raheem Sterling during Spain's 3-2 UEFA Nations League defeat to England.
Using his official account, the Spain captain posted footage of the Manchester City striker appearing to feign injury in an off-the-ball incident during Monday's game.
In the 54th minute, Sterling suddenly clutched his ankle as Ramos walked past him, in what could be interpreted as an effort to get the Real Madrid defender booked.
Ramos captioned the video: "Nothing else to say."
The 32-year-old's disciplinary record is the stuff of legend; as well as being the most carded and most sent off player in La Liga history - with 173 cards, 19 of which were red - he also became the most carded player in the Champions League after received his 37th booking in the competition during Los Blancos' recent 4-0 win over Roma.
Curiously, Ramos has never received a red card on international duty despite making 150 appearances for Spain.
