FC Edmonton claimed wins in back-to-back matches with a 1-0 victory over Jacksonville Armada FC at Community First Park in a midweek affair.
The Eddies (2W-1D-1L, 7 points) secured the game-winning goal in the 64th minute. Pablo Cruz's cross was headed by Daryl Fordyce and Papé Diakité fired it past Jacksonville goalkeeper Miguel Gallardo. It was Diakité's first goal in the NASL.
The Sengalese defender put in a strong shift on the Eddies' back line with Albert Watson. Both limited Armada FC's forward Matt Fondy and the Jacksonville attack to just two shots on target, despite the large advantage in possession (63.2 for Armada FC to the Eddies' 36.8 percent).
The Eddies had the best opportunities in front of goal on the night, but Gallardo was able to make a save on Jake Keegan's header in the 67th minute and Jason Plumhoff's low shot in the 69th minute.
Jacksonville (1-1-2, 4) remains at home to face Rayo OKC on Saturday, while the Eddies travel to Carroll Stadium in a showdown with the unbeaten Indy Eleven.
