Patriots to Erect Statue Honoring Tom Brady
The New England Patriots announced Thursday that they will pay tribute to Tom Brady, the legendary quarterback who led the team to six Super Bowl titles, with a 12-foot bronze statue. The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for August 8, coinciding with the start of the preseason.

A Tribute Ahead of the Preseason Opener Against the Commanders
The event will take place at Gillette Stadium ahead of the Patriots first preseason game against the Washington Commanders. The organization shared the announcement through a video posted on social media, featuring iconic moments from Brady career interspersed with footage of the sculptor crafting the statue.
“Last year, we commissioned a local sculptor to create a life-size bronze statue to honor the legendary legacy of the great Tom Brady,” said team owner Robert Kraft in the video.
An Unprecedented Honor
Brady, who was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in June 2023, will become the first player in team history to be honored with a statue. Founded in 1959 as the Boston Patriots later renamed the New England Patriots in 1971 the franchise has never before commemorated a former player in this way.
Widely regarded as the greatest player in NFL history, Brady is a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
An Unmatched Legacy
Drafted by the Patriots in the 6th round (199th overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady career became one of the most remarkable in professional sports. He led New England to Super Bowl victories in XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, and LIII, tying the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins in the modern era with six championships.
He later secured a seventh Super Bowl title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV before retiring at the end of the 2022 season.
A Record-Breaking Career
Brady holds numerous NFL records, including:
- Most playoff wins: 35
- Most completions: 7,753
- Most passing yards: 89,214
- Most touchdown passes: 649
- Most Super Bowl appearances: 10 (with 7 victories)
Today, Brady serves as a lead analyst for Fox Sports and is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. His statue will be placed at Patriot Place Plaza, just outside the Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium.
