Aussie scores stunner to compound Celtic misery
Australian striker Zac Sapsford scored a wonder-goal to lift Dundee United to a 2-1 win over embattled Celtic, the fallen Scottish giant slumping to a fourth straight loss to start life under new manager Wilfried Nancy.
The loss - the first time Celtic has dropped four in a row in all competitions since 1978 - capped a miserable day for the Glasgow club, chairman Peter Lawwell earlier confirming he will step down from the board at the end of December, citing "intolerable" abuse as the reasoning behind his decision.
For Australia international Sapsford, the statement strike comes amid a stunning debut season in the SPFL inwhich the former Western Sydney Wanderers star has scored five goals in 17 appearances and two goals from four Conference League qualifiers.
