Ederson signs new deal with Atalanta
Ederson has signed a new five-year contract with Atalanta after the collapse of his move to Manchester United.
The Brazilian had looked set to join United in June, before being called up to Brazil's 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as an injury replacement.
When he returned from the tournament to undergo his medical, United claimed it had found significant problems with his knee and thus pulled out of the move.
Atalanta's director of sport, Cristiano Giuntoli, later admitted La Dea was stunned but said it was working on a deal to keep Ederson at the club long-term.
It has done just that, with the 27-year-old penning a new contract through to June 2031.
Having signed from Salernitana in July 2022, his current deal had been due to expire at the end of the upcoming season.
Ederson has made 180 appearances for Atalanta in all competitions and netted 16 goals, while he was part of the team that won the UEFA Europa League in 2023-2024.
