Dragusin couldn't wait to join Fiorentina on loan
After an injury-disrupted spell at Tottenham Hotspur, Radu Dragusin is back in Serie A, joining Fiorentina on loan for the 2026-2027 campaign.
The loan deal reportedly includes an obligation to buy for €17.5 million ($28.8 million) at his 22nd appearance for Fiorentina.
It marks a return to Italy for Dragusin, who came through the Juventus academy before joining Genoa, where he spent two seasons.
The Romanian has played for Spurs since January 2024, but has made just 24 appearances, with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury seeing him miss nearly a year.
He is now excited to get started after making the switch back to Serie A.
"I feel really good. I am so happy to be here and can't wait to get started with the lads on the pitch," Dragusin said.
"I had already come to Florence a few times when playing for Genoa, just as a tourist to visit this beautiful city and its amiable people. There is a big season ahead of us, and we certainly want to do well.
"The experience at Tottenham helped me grow a great deal, both as a player and a man. I carry with me the many tough duels I had with opposition strikers, the quality of the players I faced.
"It helped me to mature, and I hope to bring that experience with me in this new team. I couldn't wait to get here."
Dragusin managed 10 appearances for Spurs in all competitions after returning from injury, with five of those coming from the start.
He won 27 of his 54 duels, while also making 46 clearances and 17 interceptions.
