Nicolas Jackson completes Aston Villa transfer
Aston Villa has confirmed the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea for a fee that could reportedly reach £65 million ($122.8 million).
Villa is selling Ollie Watkins to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal for a reported £50 million ($94.5 million).
Unai Emery confirmed that Watkins had said his goodbyes, and that Jackson was in the process of completing his switch from Chelsea, and Villa has now officially unveiled its new striker.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 and scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for the Blues across all competitions.
The 25-year-old spent last term on loan at Bayern Munich, where he served as understudy to Harry Kane and scored 11 goals.
Jackson could be set to make his Villa debut on Tuesday (AEST), when it hosts Premier League champion Arsenal.
Villa was hammered 4-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion in its opening game of the season.
Villa is also reportedly closing in on signing Jackson's Senegalese compatriot Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain.
