Udinese beats Barca to win pre-season trophy
Serie A side Udinese beat Barcelona 1-0 to claim the Friuli Venezia Giulia Cup triangular tournament, which also featured Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
Vakoun Issouf Bayo scored the winner in the final minute of the 45-minute format match, coolly clipping the ball over an advancing Wojciech Szczesny to seal the victory.
Udinese had earlier beaten Nottingham Forest in the opening match by the same 1-0 scoreline, with Oumar Solet scoring in that one.
Barcelona also beat Forest 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Raphinnha, but Hansi Flick's men couldn't get the result against Udinese, despite dominating for much of the 45-minute game with a team still missing all those who played at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
All three matches were played in the same evening at Udinese's Bluenergy Stadium.
