Juventus defence sets UCL club record
Juventus set a club record with its victory over Monaco, as its astonishing defensive form continued.
Gianluigi Buffon and Juventus's rock-solid defence have now kept six consecutive UEFA Champions League clean sheets.
Juve beat Monaco 2-0 away from home on Thursday (AEST) in the first leg of their semi-final tie to take a huge step towards the final in Cardiff.
Gonzalo Higuain's double did the damage for Massimiliano Allegri's men, but the players at the other end of the pitch also played a huge part in the victory, keeping out a Monaco side which had scored 12 goals in four knockout games coming into the tie.
Juve has now shutout its opponents for six straight games in the competition for the first time in the club's history.
The run has seen it keep out Dinamo Zagreb in its last group game before denying Porto home and away in the last 16, and also preventing Barcelona from scoring in both legs of the quarter-final prior to the match in Monaco.
In total, Juve has only conceded twice in 11 UEFA Champions League matches in 2016-2017.
This game was also the first time Monaco had failed to score in a match at Stade Louis II since November 2015.
The achievement is another landmark for Buffon, who also became only the second Italian player to make 100 UEFA Champions League appearances for the same club.
