Bremer header ensures winning start for Juve
Juventus's 2026-2027 Serie A campaign began with a win as Luciano Spalletti's side defeated Frosinone 1-0 on Monday.
Bremer's 22nd-minute header proved to be the difference as Juventus overcame a stubborn Frosinone side in a 1-0 victory at Stadio Benito Stirpe.
The away side should have taken the lead in the 20th minute, with Randal Kolo Muani blazing over from close range after Bremer's flick-on at the near post.
However, Kolo Muani's blushes were spared by Bremer two minutes later, as the Brazilian powered in a header from Francisco Conceicao鈥檚 inswinging delivery.
Luciano Spalletti's side was inches from doubling the lead in the 43rd minute, with Pierre Kalulu firing a strike against the upright via a slight nick off Lorenzo Palmisani, before the Frosinone goalkeeper reacted quickly to stop Kenan Yildiz's follow-up.
Conceicao also should have made it 2-0 seven minutes into the second half, but the winger lashed a first-time attempt over the crossbar after Zeki Celik's left-wing centre.
There was another frustrating near-miss to come for the lively Conceicao, too. After doing brilliantly to regain possession from Alessio Zerbin just outside the box, the winger rifled a thunderbolt inches past the left-hand post.
Kolo Muani could not believe his luck as he narrowly missed Edon Zhegrova's low ball into the six-yard box before new Juve goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was substituted off injured in second half stoppage-time.
Vicario's replacement, Mattia Perin, almost conceded an instant equaliser, but he was fortunate to see Gabriele Calvani's header smash the crossbar as Spalletti's men clung onto all three points.
