Rangers cut gap to Hearts after Celtic postponement
Rangers cut Hearts' lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to three points as they thrashed 10-man Kilmarnock 5-1 at Ibrox Stadium.
Having watched Hearts lose 1-0 to St. Mirren, while Celtic's scheduled trip to Aberdeen was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Danny Rohl's side had a major opportunity to land a blow in the title race.
It was helped on its way by Dom Thompson's fourth-minute red card, which came after he dragged Djeidi Gassama down inside the area, with the resulting penalty being tucked away by James Tavernier.
Rangers had to wait until the 58th minute to extend their lead, with Bojan Miovski curling home, then Andreas Skov Olsen came off the bench to get his first goal for the club.
After Greg Kiltie tapped home to reduce Kilmarnock's deficit, another Rangers substitute – Oliver Antman – made it 4-1, with Mikey Moore adding some gloss in stoppage time.
Rangers are now second in the table outright, three points clear of Celtic, which has a game in hand.
