Muharemovic excited to get started at Leeds
Leeds United has bolstered its defence by bringing in Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo, after his FIFA World Cup performances for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Muharemovic has reportedly joined in a deal worth £34.1 million ($65.7 million).
The 23-year-old has been brought in to bolster Leeds's defence after Pascal Struijk's move to Brighton and Hove Albion, and he is its second signing of the transfer window after Harry Wilson’s arrival on a free transfer.
"I was born ready," Muharemovic said. "I will give everything for this club.
"I will give everything, every game. I just want to win. I hate to lose, and I will fight for every ball, even if it is my head or my feet, I am going.
"I know that it is a big and historical club. I know a lot. I followed since I heard about the interest that I could come here. I watched a lot, especially I watched a lot of videos about the fans, that every game is sold out, so it is just incredible.
"I directly knew what the ambitions are, and the club told me what the ambitions are, so we want to get the club back where it belongs.
"I just can't wait to see the whole team. I saw a few players and, yeah, I just can't wait to train with them, to see how they are and to meet my new family."
Muharemovic spent two seasons at Sassuolo, initially joining on loan before making his stay permanent in April 2025.
He made 63 appearances in total, including 32 in Serie A in 2025-2026.
