Palace late show eases pressure on embattled Glasner
Evann Guessand scored his first goal for Crystal Palace in the 90th minute as it eased the pressure on Oliver Glasner with a 1-0 win over 10-man Wolves.聽
Glasner had come under fire from his own supporters in the build-up to the match after telling them to "stay humble", following a miserable run of form that had threatened to drag Palace into the relegation battle.
The Eagles were comfortably second-best throughout the first half, despite Yeremy Pino striking the post after a well-worked corner routine.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde tested Dean Henderson on two occasions, then the Palace captain guessed correctly to save Tolu Arokodare's 43rd-minute penalty after Adam Wharton felled Mateus Mane inside the area.
Palace was arguably fortunate to see Will Hughes avoid a second yellow card, too, but Ladislav Krejci had no such luck when he kicked the ball away in the 61st minute, with his second caution reducing Wolves to 10 men.
The visitor held firm until the final minute of the 90, but substitute Guessand met Tyrick Mitchell's cross on the slide to beat Jose Sa and clinch three much-needed points for Palace.
