Coady leaves Wrexham after five months in Charlton loan deal
Conor Coady's stint at Wrexham lasted less than six months, with the former England defender joining Charlton Athletic on a temporary basis.
Former England international Conor Coady has left Wrexham just five months after arriving at the Racecourse Ground, joining Charlton Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.
Coady, who captained Wolves to back-to-back seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League in 2018-19 and 2019-20, joined Wrexham from Leicester City in August.
However, he lost his place in Phil Parkinson's preferred starting XI just five games into the Championship season, with his most recent league outing being a 3-1 defeat to QPR on September 13.
And Coady will now leave a Wrexham team that could win a fourth successive promotion, going all the way from non-league to the Premier League, for a Charlton side battling to avoid relegation.
Charlton sit 19th in the table and are three points clear of the bottom three, and Coady's debut could come against his former club Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Charlton boss Nathan Jones said: "We're delighted to add Conor. He is a player of immense experience and someone who has played at the highest level and played for his country.
"His leadership and his qualities are something we feel we needed at this time. At this point, we really felt we could utilise his leadership going into the last 18 games."
