Salah's agent denies reports of Besiktas agreement
Mohamed Salah's agent has rubbished reports that the former Liverpool winger has agreed to join Besiktas, claiming there is still no decision on his future.
Salah reached an agreement with Liverpool to cancel his contract at the end of last season, bringing the curtain down on his glittering nine-year stay at Anfield.
Salah, who became embroiled in a public spat with former Liverpool boss Arne Slot midway through last season and was temporarily frozen out by the Dutchman, has been strongly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent years.
But now widespread reports suggested he had agreed terms with Turkish Super Lig giant Besiktas, prompting his agent Ramy Abbas Issa to issue a rebuttal.
He wrote on X: "I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?"
Abbas wrote in a separate post: "It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn't want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
Salah recently led Egypt to the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where it was beaten 3-2 by Argentina after leading 2-0 going into the 79th minute.
Argentina's comeback was the latest in a FIFA World Cup match by a team that had trailed by two goals and eventually won without requiring extra-time.
