1) Champions League in danger of being week's one-hit wonder
There is a reason that bands with thin musical resumes save the big hit(s) till last - to stop people walking out after one song. When Hanson play a gig - and yes, they still exist - and pull out 'Mmm Bop' at the top of the set, the venue would soon clear. UEFA have that problem on Wednesday.
With the ties from Tuesday being so blooming compelling with Juve and Bayern beating out an epic encounter and Arsenal giving Barcelona quite the game, the four teams trotting out onto the pitch today are going to have to put on a Superbowl halftime show, but in football form. And without Coldplay.
Unfortunately, one of those sides is Atletico Madrid, a club that is so fond of keeping a clean sheets and scoring just the one goal at the other end, the club should buy a pad in Milan, wear loafers with no socks and join Serie A.
The still admirable Rojiblancos are in the Netherlands to take on a PSV side that is top of the Eredivisie and has a J. Hendrix in the midfield. Which is excellent. The other clash features Manchester City taking on Dinamo Kiev in Ukraine, a team that hasn't played a competitive game since the beginning December. The Newcastle United of the east, if you will. Catch the best highlights and sharpist analysis on the XTRA tonight from 10PM ET.
Of course, that game is a mere warm-up ahead of the real challenge for Manchester City, the Capital One Cup final against Spurs on Sunday. And it's live on beIN SPORTS with coverage starting at 11AM ET on Sunday.
In fact, whilst we are talking about the future, then zip through this to catch the tastiest titbits coming up on beIN SPORTS this week, a roster that includes the return of the Superbikes, the Madrid derby and Derby d'Italia.
2) Mourinho waiting for "right move" as Conte edges closer to Chelsea
He has spoken and He says that He is waiting for the right move, which will probably be over the summer. The He is Jose Mourinho who joshed that "I am the English champion, and I still have no job."
There is more movement on the Antonio Conte to Chelsea saga. Reports from Italy suggest that the current national team coach will have talks with the Stamford Bridge club on Thursday.
3) Falcao may be let through Monaco's football cat flap to escape injury rainstorm
With what was probably the same weary sigh as an owner dutifully cleaning up some doggy poop in the kitchen, of a morning, Monaco have said that they may bring Falcao back from his injury-hit loan odyssey around the Premier League. "We thought about it in January," admitted club VP Vadim Vasilyev, "but he was injured."
4) Top teams dominate in toughest league in the world
The Championship have been busy bees this week, with almost a complete round of matches being played. The top four all won, to leave Hull City at the top of the table, whilst Derby and Blackburn play the final match on Wednesday afternoon. Catch a full round-up, the best goals and analysis on the XTRA tonight at 10PM ET.
5) FIFA candidate in 'may be morally bankrupt' shock
FIFA NEWS!
