Los Blancos’ interest in the Brazilian international pre-dates his 2013 transfer from Santos to Barca.
And despite the fierce rivalry between the two clubs, rumours continue to claim Madrid are still trying to tempt the 24-year-old away from Catalonia, but his international team-mate Marcelo can’t imagine it becoming a reality.
“We joke about other things [laughs]. We don’t talk about football much, so I don’t know…” the defender said when asked by Globoesporte if he’d spoke with Neymar about a potential transfer.
“But I think it would be difficult for Neymar, who is making history with Barcelona, to come to Real Madrid. I think it would be difficult.”
