Olympique Lyonnais President Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed his club has opened discussions with Hatem Ben Arfa over a move.
Nice star Ben Arfa, out of contract in the summer, has emerged as a top target for several clubs including FC Barcelona. However, it now appears Lyon are in pole position for the 29-year-old.
Aulas confirmed OL were in discussions, when he exclusively spoke to beIN SPORTS in France, to bring the player back to the club he left in 2008.
"We are in talks with Ben Arfa, and have made an offer." said the Lyon chief, who also indicated the player would be a priority for the club.
"He's one of our priorities, and he wants to come back. He's been receptive".
Ben Arfa has been a revelation at Nice this season, scoring 18 goals in 36 games with the high-flying outfit.
