President Enrico Preziosi has revealed Genoa are working hard to convince Roma winger Juan Iturbe to join the club on loan for the 2015-16 season.
The Argentine attacker appears to be on his way out of the Giallorossi after struggling to make an impact during his first season
The 22-year-old struggled to make an impact last season after Roma spent around €22 million to prise the Argentine attacker away from Hellas Verona.
The arrivals of Mohamed Salah and Iago Falque are expected to further limit Iturbe's game time in the new season and Genoa are hoping to pounce.
"We are working seriously and trying to convince Iturbe to come to Genoa," Preziosi was quoted as tellingMediaset Premium.
"We're pushing hard and he is hesitant. There is that moment of reflection that he will take with his agent, then I hope next week everything can be clearer."
Iturbe, who previously wore the jerseys of Cerro Porteno, Porto and River Plate, scored two goals in 27 Serie A appearances for Roma last term.
He has a contract with the Stadio Olimpico side until June 2019.
