Colombia 3-1 Ecuador: Pekerman's side ends visitors' unbeaten run: Colombia became the first team to topple Ecuador in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying courtesy of a 3-1 win in Barranquilla. Colombia coach Jose Pekerman retained faith in the majority of the side he sent out during the 3-2 win away to Bolivia and he was repaid with a masterful performance. Carlos Bacca, with a brace, and Sebastian Perez scored the goals for his side as Ecuador struck late through Michael Arroyo.

Trailing 2-0 with 11 minutes remaining in Asuncion, under-fire coach Dunga and Brazil appeared destined for defeat after Dario Lezcano and Edgar Benitez scored on either side of the break. But Brazil refused to surrender as veteran Ricardo Oliveira pulled a goal back in the 79th minute before Alves completed the last-gasp comeback with a curled shot into the far corner of the net.
