Inter have entered negotiations with Barcelona over Ivan Rakitic, according to GOAL Italia.
The Serie A side are determined to land the Croatia star and are willing to offer €35 million (£30m/$40m) at the moment.
Although Inter's first offer falls short of the Catalan side's asking price, they may be willing to meet the Nerazzurri halfway and take €40m (£35m/$45m) for him.
