France coach Guy Noves lamented the try conceded by his team in their 19-10 loss to Wales in the Six Nations on Friday.
George North crossed for Wales early in the second half as they opened up a healthy lead at the Principality Stadium.
The wing had initially failed to make contact with Dan Biggar's perfectly placed kick, but Jules Plisson accidentally knocked the ball back into North's path to touch down.
That proved a crucial moment and Noves said his team had been unable to recover from the try.
"It was tough to concede a try in that way but ultimately reflects the game," he said.
"It was a difficult way to concede a try, especially considering the way we had shown character in the first half to only go in trailing 6-3.
"We were under pressure throughout the first half, especially under high balls. Wales did not surprise us, they have a lot of power in the three quarters and we knew that.
"They have a strong kicking game and we were not up to it, that allowed them to put pressure on us and stay in our half."
With the loss, France's Grand Slam hopes were ended – while Wales moved top of the table.
