Amir Khan's Father Insists Fight With Manny Pacquiao Still On
Despite saying he had pulled out of negotiations last month, Amir Khan looks set to fight Manny Pacquiao,
A bout between Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan appears set to be confirmed after the British fighter's father revealed terms for the contest had been agreed.
Last month Khan said he had pulled out of negotiations with the Filipino, who lost his WBO Welterweight title to Floyd Mayweather back in May.
However, on Sunday promoter Bob Arum opened up the possibility of the pair squaring off, saying either Khan or Terence Crawford would be Pacquiao's opponent in April in his final fight before retirement.
And, after missing out on a bout with the undefeated Mayweather as the American seemingly bade farewell to boxing with a defeat of Andre Berto back in September, Khan now appears to be set for the big fight he has long been looking for.
A report in The Daily Mail indicated "every last detail" had been agreed, with father Shah Khan quoted as saying: "Our paperwork went off to Arum on Friday and every point is covered.
"The location is definitely the US. The date in April may vary by a week or so but April is the month."
Tim Bradley, who lost to Pacquiao in a rematch back in April 2014, had also been mooted as a possible opponent for the 36-year-old.
But Khan senior added: "Mr Arum has to guarantee millions to Manny and it is unlikely he can reach those numbers with either of the other candidates.
"We have been here before, with Mayweather, so while we are confident the contract will be back with us in the next few days we are holding the second Saturday in January as a fall-back date for an alternative fight."
