5/13 FIFA Ethics Committee submits reports on Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini: Final reports have been submitted by the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee, requesting sanctions for the suspended Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini. Both FIFA president Blatter and UEFA chief Platini were provisionally banned last month for an alleged "disloyal payment" made to the Frenchman in 2011. The two men appealed the suspensions, but both were rejected by FIFA. The world game's governing body published a statement onfirming that the final reports on Blatter and Platini had been submitted.
6/13 Colombia 0-1 Argentina: Biglia ends winless start for Martino's side: Lucas Biglia's first international goal ended Argentina's winless start to World Cup 2018 qualifying, as the away side secured a 1-0 triumph over Colombia at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez. A poor pitch helped the visitors get off the mark early as Cristian Zapata lost control of the ball following an awkward bobble, which enabled Biglia to break his Argentina duck in his 38th appearance.
7/13 Uruguay 3-0 Chile: Godin and Co. exact revenge: Uruguay returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over South American champion Chile in a fiercely contested World Cup qualifier in Montevideo. Uruguay, thanks to Diego Godin and a quick-fire second-half double, ended Chile's unbeaten start to World Cup qualifying. Diego Godin set the Uruguayans on their way with a 23rd-minute opener - his third goal in qualifying - before substitute Alvaro Pereira and Martin Caceres helped the team bounce back from their 2-1 loss in Ecuador last week.
8/13 Venezuela 1-3 Ecuador: Leaders extend advantage with comfortable victory: Ecuador strolled to a 3-1 victory in Venezuela to maintain its perfect record in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. Fidel Martinez judged his run to perfection to slot past Alain Baroja. Ecuador continued to find gaping holes in the home defense and Baroja left his side horribly outnumbered when he undercooked a 23rd-minute clearance, Jefferson Montero keeping his cool to punish the goalkeeper's error. Felipe Caicedo met a Montero cross to power home a header from 12 yards. Josef Martinez netted a consolation for Venezuela with six minutes left on the clock.
9/13 CONCACAF announces stadiums for Copa America Centenario: CONCACAF has announced the 10 venues for the 2016 Copa America Centenario. In a statement, the federation revealed the venues are MetLife Stadium (New York/New Jersey), Soldier Field (Chicago), the Rose Bowl (Los Angeles/Pasadena), Gillette Stadium (Boston/Foxborough), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia), the Orlando Citrus Bowl (Orlando), University of Phoenix Stadium (Phoenix/Glendale), Levi Stadium (San Francisco) and CenturyLink Field (Seattle).
10/13 Germany-Netherlands called off: Germany's international friendly match with the Netherlands has been cancelled for safety reasons, it has been confirmed, after the discovery of a suspicious object. The World Cup winners were due to host the Oranje at the HDI Arena in Hannover just days after their match with France was targeted in the terrorist attacks in Paris. Police presence was greatly increased as a result, with numerous armed forces patrolling the city with submachine guns, and a suspicious object is believed to have been found at the stadium - though what exactly is it has yet to be confirmed.
11/13 Football unites: Wembley sings Marseillaise in Paris tribute: Wembley paid a touching and emotional tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris, as the entire stadium came together in an act of solidarity to sing the French national anthem. Fans from both nations stood shoulder to shoulder to honour the victims from the attacks, with the words to the Marseillaise shown on the scoreboard for English fans to join in. After that rousing rendition came a moment of reflection as the players came together for a joint team picture before observing a minute's silence, with both sets of players spread out around the centre circle.
12/13 Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer in Masters Cup final: Novak Djokovic won for the fourth consecutive year the Masters Cup after defeating Roger Federer 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
13/13 'Canelo' Alvarez new middleweight champion after beating Miguel Cotto: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is the new WBC middleweight champion after beating Miguel Cotto by unanimous points decisión. In one of the most eagerly anticipated fights of the year - pitting a Mexican idol against a Puerto Rican legend in Las Vegas - the judges scored the fight in favour of Alvarez 117-111, 119-109, 118-110.
