Super Bacteria in Rio Waters Still a Threat to Olympic Sailors
The murky waters of Guanabara Bay contain drug-resistant super bacteria that put the health of Olympic athletes at risk.

Athletes competing in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games’ aquatic sports are being given some unorthodox advice as they prepare for the flagship event: “Keep you eyes and mouth closed.”
Guanabara Bay, which is set to host many of the water-based events in August, is still highly contaminated and contains raw sewerage as well as drug-resistant bacteria.
The health risks those who come into contact with the water include urinary tract, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections
