Euro 2016 Champions Portugal will be looking progress to the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the first time in two tournaments but will have a tough challenge in group B against the likes of Spain, Morocco & Iran. Much of the attention will fall on captain Cristiano Ronaldo, but Portugal certainly has the personnel and ability to be considered dark horses for the World Cup.

Portugal topped UEFA Group B, winning 9 of their 10 qualifiers. 



63-year old Fernando Santos guided Portugal to their first ever international title at Euro 2016. Santos has enjoyed an extensive managerial career in Portugal and Greece. He was hired in September 2014.
