Roma Join Jadon Sancho Transfer Race with Juventus, Inter, and Dortmund
Jadon Sancho remains one of the hottest transfer commodities this summer, as Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and now AS Roma, compete for the Manchester United winger’s signature.
Since joining Manchester United in 2021 for a staggering £73 million from Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho’s tenure at Old Trafford has been underwhelming, marked by inconsistent form and injuries.
His 2024-25 season ended with a loan spell at Chelsea, where he managed modest returns—three goals and four assists in 31 Premier League appearances—but the London club opted not to make the move permanent.
Returning to United, Sancho remains surplus to requirements under Ruben Amorim, who has sidelined him from the first team squad as the club pushes for his sale.
Manchester United appear desperate to offload Sancho, trimming their wage bill and reallocating funds toward new recruits. Initially, the asking price was around £25 million, but recent reports suggest United have lowered expectations to between £15.6 million and £21.6 million to facilitate a swift sale.
Juventus Leading the Chase but Facing Competition
Italian giants Juventus have emerged as front-runners in the pursuit of Sancho. Reports indicate an agreement on personal terms with the winger, including a four-year contract reportedly worth €6 million per year, alongside a transfer fee around £15-21 million with add-ons.
Negotiations between Juventus and Manchester United are ongoing, with a deal thought to be close to completion pending final details.
However, Juventus face competition from AS Roma. The Italian capital club is actively assessing Sancho’s suitability and reportedly admiring his talent, potentially preparing to launch a counter-offer.
Roma’s interest adds a layer of complexity to the transfer saga, as they consider whether to outmaneuver Juventus in securing the winger.
Borussia Dortmund and Other Options on the Horizon
During the unfolding transfer drama, Sancho's former club Borussia Dortmund remains a potential destination. Emerging reports reveal that Dortmund is again “dealing with” Sancho internally, exploring a possible return.
A reunion could be appealing given Sancho’s past success there and rejuvenated playing opportunities, though financial and sporting conditions remain unclear.
Other clubs and regions, including Saudi Arabia and Turkey, have been mentioned in transfer rumors, but Sancho reportedly prefers to stay in Europe’s top leagues, focusing on Italy or a return to familiar Bundesliga grounds.
What Lies Ahead for Sancho?
The next few weeks are crucial for Sancho’s career trajectory. With his Manchester United contract running out soon and interest from multiple clubs hotting up, the winger’s future hinges on finalizing a deal that balances his career ambitions, financial terms, and the buying club’s vision.
Whether in Turin, Rome, Dortmund, or elsewhere, Sancho is set to embark on a new chapter after a turbulent spell at Old Trafford.
