Chelsea Reminded of Mistake in Not Signing Cristiano Ronaldo
The Chelsea legend, William Gallas, stated that one of the big mistakes the "Blues" made was not signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United as the legend he has always been, a player admired by everyone in the club, including fans, coaching staff, and executives. However, his second stint with the "Red Devils" wasn't as spectacular as many thought it would be from the start, as various off-field issues forced the player to take a different path.
Similarly, with Ronaldo's departure from Manchester United in November 2022, one of the main rumors that surfaced was the possible signing of the Portuguese star by Chelsea, a team in need of a goal-scorer to provide
leadership and confidence in the offensive department at that time. However, the transfer never materialized, and little changed for the team currently managed by Mauricio Pochettino, as CR7 ended up signing with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and is currently a reference on and off the field.
In response to this situation, the Blues' legend, William Gallas, spoke out and stated to Genting Casino that Chelsea's management made a mistake by not bringing in the Portuguese star. "Chelsea made a mistake by
not signing Cristiano Ronaldo. He was available, and the team would have been a good destination for him. Everyone knows how important Cristiano can be in the dressing room; he has a winning mentality and could have benefited the team. It was a mistake by Chelsea," commented Gallas.
For now, Chelsea has high intentions of signing Napoli's Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen; however, they know it won't be an easy or cheap task, which is why there is no confirmation from the club that their intentions for Osimhen are definitive.
