Bright start for the Red Devils

Manchester United opened the scoring early in the 14th minute when Alejandro Garnacho assisted Mason Mount, who finished clinically to make it 0-1. However, the lead didn’t last long.

In the 27th minute, a long throw-in caused chaos in United’s box, and a clearance attempt by Luke Shaw ended up in his own net, leveling the score at 1-1.

Six minutes later, in the 33rd, Kevin Schade connected with a cross from Christian Nørgaard and scored with a powerful header to put Brentford ahead 2-1.

Brentford extends lead and survives United’s comeback

In the second half, Brentford kept pushing. In the 70th minute, Schade scored again with another header from a cross on the right flank, making it 3-1.

Just four minutes later, in the 74th, Yoane Wissa capped off a fluid team move with a close-range finish, stretching the lead to 4-1.

But Manchester United fought back. In the 82nd minute, Garnacho struck from outside the box to reduce the deficit to 4-2.

Then, in added time (90'+5), Amad Diallo scored with a solo effort to make it 4-3, but there wasn’t enough time for an equalizer.

With this result, Brentford earns a crucial three points in their European push, while Manchester United will need to tighten up their defense in upcoming matches.
