Lens Extends Winning Streak and Moves Closer to Ligue 1 Lead
Lens, led by captain Adrien Thomasson, defeated Paris FC 2-1 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, moving within just two points of the Ligue 1 summit after eight rounds.
Thomasson Leads Lens to Another Important Victory
Lens continued its strong run in Ligue 1 with a 2-1 home win over Paris FC, as captain Adrien Thomasson played a starring role by contributing to both of his team’s goals.
Despite Florian Thauvin missing an early penalty — brilliantly saved by visiting goalkeeper Obed Nkambadio — Pierre Sage’s side kept its composure. In the 15th minute, Odsonne Edouard broke the deadlock after a perfect assist from Thomasson.
Paris FC equalized in the 30th minute when Pierre Lees-Melou fired home from close range. However, Lens responded after the break, with Thomasson once again playing the provider, setting up Samson Baidoo, who scored the decisive goal that secured all three points for the hosts.

Lens Dreaming of the Top Spot
With this result, Lens has now recorded three wins and one draw in its last four matches, climbing to fourth place in Ligue 1 with 16 points — level with Strasbourg, one behind Paris Saint-Germain, and two shy of leaders Marseille.
Under Pierre Sage’s guidance, the team has found the right balance between defensive stability and attacking efficiency. Meanwhile, Paris FC remains mid-table in 11th place, far from European contention but still with time to recover as the season progresses.
With Thomasson’s leadership and consistent performances, Lens continues to build momentum and looks determined to secure another spot in the UEFA Champions League — a goal that now feels increasingly within reach.
