Brazilian youngster Endrick left Real Madrid for Olympique Lyon in search of regular playing time, and his impact in Ligue 1 has exceeded all expectations, reigniting Lyon’s hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
It was no secret that Endrick departed Real Madrid to find the continuity he lacked under then-coach Xabi Alonso, but few imagined the move would turn into such a spectacular success in France.

Endrick delivers a stunning start in Ligue 1
The former Palmeiras striker has enjoyed a dream beginning, living up to the label of a “marquee signing” and pushing Lyon into the Champions League conversation.
In just three matches, the Brazilian forward—who is fighting for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup—has been directly involved in five goals: four goals and one assist.
His latest performance against Metz was outstanding, scoring a hat-trick and even seeing another goal ruled out, underlining his immediate influence on the team.
When will Endrick return to Real Madrid?
According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between Real Madrid and Lyon included a clause allowing the Spanish club to recall Endrick on January 20, an option they chose not to activate.
Both Real Madrid and current coach Álvaro Arbeloa are reportedly pleased with Endrick’s development, and the Brazilian is set to return to Madrid on July 1, 2026.
