Lyon takes advantage of its strength

Olympique Lyon beat FC Metz 3-0 at Groupama Stadium on the second day of Ligue 1. Stéphane Le Mignan's men showed improvement in their play compared to last week's defeat against Strasbourg, but were punished by the home side's efficiency.

Fofana and Tolisso made the difference

Metz started the match bravely and created chances through Boubacar Traoré and Brian Madjo. However, Lyon struck with two high-quality moves. Malick Fofana opened the scoring in the 25th minute with an individual effort, and just five minutes later Corentin Tolisso extended the lead after an assist from Maitland-Niles.

Karabec sealed the victory

In the second half, Metz tried to react, but never found clarity in front of Rémy Descamps' goal. Fischer kept his team alive with several saves, although in the 83rd minute Adam Karabec took advantage of a rebound to seal the final 3-0 score. With this result, FC Metz has accumulated two defeats in two games, while Lyon is confidently consolidating its position at the start of the season.
