Paris Saint-Germain is not yet mathematically crowned Ligue 1 champion, as they still await the result of the clash between Monaco and Nice. But after their dominant 6-1 win over Saint-Étienne, it feels inevitable. Following Marseille's earlier 3-1 loss to Reims, Luis Enrique’s side needed just one more favorable result—either a draw or win by Monaco—to secure the title.
The win over Saint-Étienne marked PSG’s 22nd victory in 27 matches, and they are now unbeaten in eight straight Ligue 1 games. It also sets the tone for what could be a treble run, with the French Cup semifinals approaching and a Champions League quarterfinal against Aston Villa looming.
Initially stunned by a 9th-minute header from Stassin, PSG looked sluggish and caught off guard. Luis Enrique had rotated the squad following the FIFA break, giving rest to key players like Vitinha, Dembélé, Nuno Mendes, and Marquinhos, with Safonov stepping in for Donnarumma.
But the early setback was just a wake-up call.

Rampant Second Half Seals the Win

The comeback began with a penalty goal by Gonçalo Ramos in the 42nd minute after drawing a foul inside the box. The Portuguese striker, usually a substitute, calmly slotted it home for his 14th goal of the season.

The second half saw a PSG onslaught:

Kvaratskhelia made it 2-1 in the 50th minute.

Doué added a third just three minutes later, capitalizing on a turnover forced by Barcola.

In the 62nd, João Neves made it 4-1.

Doué struck again in the 67th minute with a powerful finish—his ninth of the season.

Finally, Mbaye completed the rout in the 89th minute.

The victory showcased PSG’s depth and strength across the pitch, even with rotations and international fatigue. With 14 wins in their last 15 matches in all competitions, they are shaping up as one of Europe’s most dangerous sides.
