The Records Hansi Flick’s Barcelona Is Threatening

Seven official matches. Seven victories. 33 goals. And the feeling that virtually every Barcelona match could end in a rout.

The spectacular start to the season for Hansi Flick’s team is no longer just a good run of form. Following the 7-2 victory over Racing Santander, the numbers are beginning to put the Catalan side within sight of some of the greatest records in Spanish soccer history.

In LaLiga, the numbers are equally impressive: six victories from six matches, 18 points from a possible 18 and 28 goals scored.

There is still practically an entire season to play, and maintaining such an extraordinary pace for several months will be extremely difficult. But this start at least makes it possible to look at some records that seemed untouchable just a few weeks ago.

The 100-Point and 121-Goal Marks Are on the Horizon

The record for most points in a LaLiga season stands at 100. José Mourinho’s Real Madrid reached that total in 2011-12 before Barcelona matched it one year later.

Flick’s team has collected all 18 points available so far.

But it is in attack where the numbers become even more remarkable.

That Real Madrid side from 2011-12 also established the LaLiga scoring record with 121 goals. After six matches, the current Barcelona side has already scored 28, an average of 4.67 per game.

Maintaining that pace over a 38-game season would take the team to a completely extraordinary total. Obviously, it is only a mathematical projection and the schedule will eventually become more demanding, but it illustrates just how impressive Barcelona’s start has been.

Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Karim Adeyemi, Gabriel Jesus and company have turned Barcelona’s attack into a constant threat.

There is another record that belongs to the club itself.

Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona finished the 2011-12 season with 190 goals across all competitions, powered by an extraordinary campaign from Lionel Messi, who scored 73 times.

Breaking that record would require much more than a spectacular start, but Flick’s team has already scored 33 goals in its first seven official matches.

The difference is how those goals are being shared around the team.

Against Racing Santander, for example, Raphinha scored a hat-trick, while several other players also contributed to a rout that once again demonstrated the number of attacking options available to the German coach.

An Unbeaten Season Remains Unfinished Business

There is one record that no great Barcelona team has ever achieved.

Not Johan Cruyff’s, not Pep Guardiola’s, and not Luis Enrique’s side managed to complete an entire LaLiga season without losing.

The closest came under Ernesto Valverde in 2017-18. Barcelona remained unbeaten until the penultimate matchday before suffering a 5-4 defeat against Levante after going 36 league matches without a loss that season.

The perfect start to 2026-27 puts that possibility back into the conversation, although there is still an enormous road ahead.

Perhaps the most important thing right now is not any particular record.

It is the way Barcelona is winning.

The Catalans have opened the season with six consecutive victories in LaLiga and remain perfect across all competitions. Even when matches appear to be decided, the team continues searching for more goals.

Following the rout of Racing Santander, Hansi Flick highlighted the courage and concentration of his players, while Raphinha made it clear that the group continues to look for more goals.

The records will be decided several months from now.

But after 33 goals in seven official matches, this Barcelona side has already achieved something much earlier than expected: bringing some of the biggest records in its history back into the conversation.
