Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé to Take Center Stage in El Clásico With Up to 40 Cameras Tracking Them
Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé will command the spotlight in the upcoming El Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. LaLiga is preparing special coverage for a clash that comes at a pivotal moment for both stars.
Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé will once again command attention when Barcelona face Real Madrid, but this time the spotlight will extend beyond their performances on the pitch. LaLiga is preparing special television coverage for one of the most anticipated matches of the season.
The broadcast will feature technology designed to capture every detail, with a particular focus on two of the biggest stars in modern football. The Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled less than 24 hours after the match, adds even more anticipation to the occasion.
LaLiga Prepares Up to 40 Cameras to Track the Stars
The production setup for El Clásico could feature up to 40 cameras, surpassing the 26 used during the recent Real Madrid vs. Sevilla match at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The coverage will include 4K production, super slow-motion cameras, and cinematic lenses. Dedicated cameras are also expected to track Lamine Yamal and Mbappé individually throughout the match, according to Mundo Deportivo.
A Top-Tier Broadcast Production
The extensive setup reflects the A+ classification assigned to major fixtures such as El Clásico and the Madrid derby. While Category A matches typically feature a minimum of around 22 cameras, A+ fixtures can use between 35 and 40.
The camera placement plan is also shared with the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) and VAR officials, providing them with detailed information about the location of the broadcast equipment.
Lamine Yamal vs. Mbappé With the Ballon d’Or on the Horizon
The dedicated coverage will capture details that might go unnoticed during a standard broadcast, from Yamal’s off-the-ball movement and runs to Mbappé’s bursts into space and attacking plays.
With the Ballon d’Or ceremony approaching, both players will have an international stage on which to showcase their talent. However, the challenge will be turning that attention into a decisive performance for their respective teams in the upcoming Clásico.
