Kounde a doubt for Barcelona ahead of El Clasico against Real Madrid

  • The French defender trained separately due to an ankle sprain and is a doubt for the clash with Real Madrid; Dani Olmo, Eric Garcia, Christensen and Bardghji are confirmed absentees.

Kounde's fitness concern

Barcelona defender Jules Kounde trained away from the group on Friday in the penultimate session at the Joan Gamper Training City before the Clasico that will see the Catalan side face Real Madrid on Sunday at Spotify Camp Nou.

The French international, who missed Tuesday's match against PSG in the Champions League due to a sprained left ankle, did specific work on the pitch and in the gym, and is a doubt for Barca's next fixture.

Flick's session

Coach Hansi Flick led a session in which all available first-team players took part, along with academy players Hamza Abdelkarim, Àlex Campos, Orian Goren and Ebrima Tunkara.

Confirmed absentees

Beyond the doubt over Kounde, Barca will head into the Clasico without the confirmed injury absentees Dani Olmo, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji.

The Catalan team will train again on Saturday at the Joan Gamper Training City facilities, and Flick will then speak to the media at a press conference. EFE
