Hansi Flick’s Warning to Real Madrid About Lamine Yamal Ahead of El Clásico
Hansi Flick trusts Lamine Yamal ahead of El Clásico against Real Madrid: “He always performs in big games”
FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Lamine Yamal on Tuesday following the team’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League group stage, assuring that the young forward will be ready to shine in the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid in LaLiga EA Sports.
“Lamine has no problems. Winning and scoring goals is important for everyone, including him. When I look back at last year, Lamine always performs when a big game comes around. I have no doubt he’ll show his best version on Sunday against Real Madrid,” Flick said at a press conference.
The German coach acknowledged that El Clásico Barcelona vs Real Madrid “is always an important match” and emphasized that they will need “the highest level from all players, not just Lamine,” to face “a fantastic team that has shown great form at the start of the season.”

Confidence and motivation ahead of El Clásico
Flick celebrated the dominant win over Olympiacos and said that “this victory must give confidence” to the squad heading into the clash with their eternal rival.
“We’re in a different situation than last season, but I always think positively. We’ve shown that we can win in Madrid. We have a strong team, and we might get two key players back,” the Barça coach added.
Fermín López and Rashford, standout performers
The coach also praised Fermín López, who scored a hat-trick against Olympiacos:
“Fermín played a sensational match. His first goal was key to boosting the team’s confidence. He’s a dynamic, fast player, very good on the ball, and gives us the pace we need.”
Flick also highlighted Marcus Rashford’s performance, who drew a penalty and scored twice:
“He always gives one hundred percent. He can play in different positions, links up well, and is a great striker. It’s great to have him with us.”
La Masia continues to shine
Flick also praised Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández, who made his Champions League debut, describing him as “a great talent from La Masia.”
Finally, he avoided commenting on the referee’s performance, despite criticism from Olympiacos coach José Luis Mendilibar:
“I understand his frustration, but I don’t like to talk about referees,” Flick concluded.
