Cristiano Ronaldo Decides Who Will Coach Al-Nassr!
Cristiano Ronaldo will remain tied to Saudi football for at least two more seasons. The Portuguese striker has officially extended his contract with Al Nassr FC until 2027, putting to rest any speculation about a potential exit. Alongside this announcement came another major development: the Portuguese star has reportedly chosen the ideal coach to lead the club's new project.
The Riyadh-based club confirmed in a statement that “Al Nassr president Musalli Al Muammar signed a historic contract with Cristiano Ronaldo, who will continue wearing the number 7 jersey.” The club also emphasized that the agreement “goes beyond football,” describing the former Real Madrid player as “a role model for young people around the world.”
Cristiano Ronaldo picks his new coach!
Following the departure of Italian manager Stefano Pioli, who stepped down after a disappointing season with the Saudi club, Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to have suggested a new name for the role: Jorge Jesus. According to the French outlet Foot Mercato, the Portuguese forward has personally requested the appointment of his compatriot, with whom he shares a strong professional relationship.
Reports also claim that the two have already met to discuss the possibility, with Jorge Jesus currently managing Al Hilal, Al Nassr’s biggest rival in the Saudi Pro League. Whether the move goes through will now depend on negotiations between the clubs.

Stefano Pioli, for his part, exits after a season that fell short of expectations. The team finished third in the league, 13 points behind champions Al Ittihad, led by Karim Benzema, and failed to qualify for the next AFC Champions League. Despite his previous success with AC Milan, including a Serie A title in 2022, Pioli was unable to replicate that performance in Saudi Arabia.
“Grazie per tutto” (“Thank you for everything”), wrote Cristiano Ronaldo in Italian as a farewell message to the outgoing coach. With a new manager potentially on the way and Ronaldo staying on board, Al Nassr is looking to reignite its ambitions both domestically and internationally.
The renewal of Ronaldo's contract and his influence in strategic decisions show that the Portuguese legend is not just the face of the team on the pitch, but also a key voice in shaping the club’s future.
