Ghana suffered a stunning comeback and fell 4-2 to Gambia in Accra during Matchday 2 of Group C in the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers. The Black Stars built a two-goal lead, but the visitors responded before halftime and ultimately took all three points.

THE BLACK STARS TAKE CONTROL

The hosts opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Ernest Nuamah converted a penalty after Jerome Opoku was fouled following a corner kick. Six minutes later, Felix Afena-Gyan doubled Ghana's lead with a powerful free kick from just outside the box to make it 2-0.

Gambia's comeback began in the 37th minute. Muhammed Badamosi converted a penalty to pull one back, and just five minutes later, Omar Colley leveled the score after capitalizing on a long goal kick that Yaya Bojang flicked on with a header.

THE SCORPIONS COMPLETE THE COMEBACK

The decisive blow came in the second half. In the 68th minute, Ebrima Colley took advantage of a long ball and a defensive mistake to put Gambia ahead 3-2.

Then, deep into stoppage time, Ebrima Colley struck again in the 90+3rd minute, heading home a cross from Abdoulie Sanyang to seal the 4-2 victory and complete his brace.

With the defeat, Ghana remain without a point after two matches, while Gambia moved to six points and remain at the top end of Group C in the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers.

THE KEYS TO GAMBIA'S COMEBACK

AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE AFTER 2-0: Gambia did not lose their composure after goals from Ernest Nuamah and Felix Afena-Gyan. Muhammed Badamosi pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 37th minute, and Omar Colley equalized five minutes later after a long goal kick was flicked on by Yaya Bojang.
