Checo Pérez and His New Reality With Cadillac: 2026 F1 Salaries Revealed
The 2026 salary list has been leaked: Sergio Pérez will begin his Cadillac adventure outside the Top 10 of the highest-paid drivers on the grid.
Outside the Salary Top 10
Despite his status and experience, 'Checo' will rank twelfth in the salary standings for the 2026 season. This figure represents an adjustment compared to his final years at Red Bull, where his base earnings fluctuated between €10 million and €14 million.
It is important to note that this amount reflects only the base salary, excluding performance bonuses and personal sponsorship income, which are typically very significant for the Mexican veteran.
The Grid's High Earners: The 2026 Ranking
The pay gap on the grid remains vast. While Pérez adapts to his new team, other drivers continue to pull in astronomical figures:
- Max Verstappen: Continues to reign supreme with €70M at Red Bull.
- Lewis Hamilton: Follows closely with €60M at Ferrari.
- Valtteri Bottas: Checo’s new teammate at Cadillac will earn €5M.
A Sporting Challenge Over Financial Gain
Pérez’s contract with Cadillac spans two seasons, providing stability for the Mexican in a project aiming for a rapid ascent. Although the base salary is lower, the challenge of leading an iconic brand like Cadillac into its inaugural F1 campaign seems to be the primary motivation for this new stage.
Below Pérez on the list are names like Nico Hülkenberg and Esteban Ocon (€7M), while rookies and rising stars like Oliver Bearman and Franco Colapinto close out the list with figures around €1 million.
