Charles Leclerc Wants 2026 to Be the Year of Ferrari’s Renaissance.
Charles Leclerc is confident that 2026 will mark a new era for Ferrari in F1 with the change in technical regulations.
2026: a decisive year for Ferrari
With ten races still to go in 2025, Charles Leclerc already has his sights set on 2026. The Monaco driver sees the new technical regulations as a unique opportunity for Ferrari to return to a place it has not occupied since 2008: the top of the championship. “I really hope we can start a new era. It's been too long since Ferrari has been at the top, and I want that moment to come with me at the wheel,” he told Autosprint.
Personal work and constant self-criticism
Leclerc, a Ferrari driver since 2019, said that his growth as a racer has been linked to his strong self-criticism. He acknowledges that, although he has improved in many areas since his debut, he is never completely satisfied. “I want to be the most complete driver possible, for myself and for the team. I'm always looking for new details to improve,” he said, making it clear that high standards are part of his life.
The unknowns of his future and the role of the single-seater
Although Leclerc has a long-term contract with Ferrari, various reports indicate that an exit clause will be activated in 2026. Therefore, the performance of the new car will be key not only for sporting aspirations but also for the driver's future. "As far as our car is concerned, there is still a lot of work to be done. We lack pure performance, and we know it," he admitted. The 2026 season will not only mark a new cycle in Formula 1, but it could also determine whether Leclerc stays with the Scuderia or not.
