Jake Paul Promises to Destroy Gervonta Davis: "Someone's Going to Sleep"
Jake Paul promises a knockout against Gervonta Davis on November 14: “Someone is going to sleep.” The YouTuber-turned-boxer says this will be the most dangerous fight of his career.
The hype is already building for the November 14 showdown between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, with Paul vowing that the fight will not go the distance.
Paul's Bold Statement
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Jake Paul fired back at critics who have demanded he face a “real boxer.”
“He’s been saying that for years, well congratulations little man, you got your wish,” Paul said. “Tank Davis has been fighting people my size forever. If everyone thinks size doesn’t matter, I want that same energy when I fold him in half. This fight is not going the distance. Someone’s going to sleep, and it’s not me.”
Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) has built his career by facing a mix of MMA fighters, influencers, and retired boxers, but insists this is different. “If I win, I beat one of boxing’s greats and shock the world. If he wins, he just does what everyone expects. But if he loses, the image of Tank as the toughest man in the sport is gone.”
Davis Responds to the Challenge
Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs), the reigning WBA lightweight champion, brushed off Paul’s comments but acknowledged the fight will be explosive. “ATL is going to be too lit,” Davis wrote on Instagram.
The two fighters bring very different profiles to the ring. Paul, standing 6’1” with a 24 cm reach advantage, is significantly bigger than Davis, who has dominated at lightweight. Still, Davis has an unbeaten record and a reputation for devastating knockout power.
“Two knockout artists. One winner. Someone is going to sleep,” Paul added.
Background and Stakes
The fight was announced earlier this week, though key details such as weight, rounds, and whether it will be sanctioned as a professional bout remain unclear. Both fighters have plenty on the line: Paul aiming for legitimacy against his toughest opponent yet, and Davis looking to protect his legacy after recent controversies.
“This is the most dangerous fight of my career,” Paul admitted. “This isn’t an influencer or a retired fighter. He’s been boxing since he was five. I’ve only been in it for five years. But I’m ready to shock the world.”
The November 14 clash promises fireworks, with both fighters guaranteeing a knockout finish.
