Feyenoord edges out Como in five-goal thriller
Anis Hadj Moussa starred for Feyenoord as it defeated Como 3-2 in the Champions League.
After Gjivai Zechiel quickly cancelled out Assane Diao's opener in the first half at Stadion Feijenoord, Hadj Moussa put his side ahead early in the second half before playing a key role in Robert Sanchez's own goal late on.
Como went ahead after just 18 minutes through Diao, who shrugged off a challenge from Javi Lopez after getting on the end of a long ball from Jacobo Ramon before curling past Tjark Ernst.
However, Feyenoord was level less than three minutes later. Luciano Valente fired a pass into Zechiel, who received on the swivel before thundering in a strike from the edge of the box.
Sanchez was on hand to deny Lopez's close-range header on the stroke of half-time, but the Como goalkeeper could not keep out Hadj Moussa seven minutes after the restart as the winger caught the Spaniard out at his near post.
Cesc Fabregas turned to his bench and nearly found an equaliser through Tasos Douvikas, who headed over while completely unmarked, while another substitute in Lucas Da Cunha fired straight at Ernst.
Hadj Moussa saw an effort tipped onto the post by Sanchez in the 80th minute, but just 69 seconds later, the Feyenoord man saw his shot deflected onto the post by Ramon, and the ball then ricocheted in off Sanchez.
Douvikas did force a nervy final minute after Feyenoord failed to clear a long ball from Ramon, allowing the Greek striker to score at the near post, but the Dutch side held on for the victory.
