Trincao makes Al-Ahli switch from Sporting
Al-Ahli have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of Trincao from Sporting CP following a strong 2025-26 campaign.
Francisco Trincao has joined Al-Ahli in a €40m deal from Sporting CP.
Trincao has signed a four-year deal with the Saudi Pro League side, having spent four seasons with Sporting.
The 26-year-old, previously of Barcelona, made 208 appearances for Sporting in all competitions, netting 47 goals in that time and racking up 47 assists.
He also lifted two Primeira Liga titles and a Taca de Portugal during his time in Lisbon.
"I'm very proud to join Al-Ahli," he told the club's media. "I understand the value, history, and fanbase of this great club.
"The passion of Al-Ahli supporters was one of the main reasons that encouraged me to take this step. I promise to fight alongside my team-mates to achieve success and make the fans happy."
Trincao's performances in 2025-26 earned him a place in Portugal's World Cup squad, though he made just one appearance before their last-16 exit to Spain.
He scored seven goals in the Primeira Liga – the third-highest tally among Sporting players – but topped the assist charts for the team with 11, overperforming his 7.5 expected assists (xA).
Trincao also created more chances (86) than anyone else in Portugal's top-flight, while only Joao Carvalho (also 11) matches his number of assists across the league.
