Sesko: I am getting better in every Man Utd training session
Manchester United summer signing Benjamin Sesko has endured a slow start to life in the Premier League, but he expects a swift turnaround.
Benjamin Sesko insisted that he will turn his form around at Manchester United as he is “getting better and faster in every training session”.
The Slovenia international joined the Red Devils in a deal that could amount to £73.7m (€84.9m) if all add-ons are met, but has yet to start a match in the Premier League.
Sesko has come off the bench in all three of United’s league matches this season, attempting just four shots in 80 minutes, while he failed to score against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup despite playing the full 90 minutes.
The 22-year-old revealed he is still adjusting to English football, but is growing in confidence after every session under Ruben Amorim.
“The level of the matches is certainly much higher, the players and teammates are also at a higher level,” Sesko told Ekipa.
“After all, English football is at the highest level in the world of football.
“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, also because I am getting better and faster in every training session, and I am also progressing in my football mentality every day.”
Sesko is currently with the Slovenia team ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Sweden, but his first fixture back with United will be the Manchester derby.
With Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount potentially facing spells on the sideline, Sesko could be in line for his first league start.
“It’s an incredibly big match coming up. There will simply be some pressure on both sides to just win this match,” Sesko added.
“There’s still quite a bit to go until this match, but we’re definitely looking forward to a top-notch match.”
