Aubameyang joins newly-promoted Deportivo
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has returned to LaLiga to join newly-promoted Deportivo La Coruna on a two-year deal.
Aubameyang is said to have been frozen out of Marseille's plans going forward and, as such, has joined Deportivo for a reported €1.5 million ($2.4 million).
Deportivo finished second in LaLiga 2 in 2025-2026 and is set to compete in LaLiga for the first time since 2017-2018, having dropped as low as the third division in its absence.
Aubameyang, who spent just four months at Barcelona in 2022, winning the LaLiga title, is playing for his fifth club in six years, having left Marseille for the second time.
Aubameyang had rejoined Marseille ahead of the 2025-2026 season, having previously spent the 2023-2024 campaign at the Ligeu 1 club.
In his second spell there, the striker made 41 appearances in all competitions, netting 14 goals, with 10 of those coming in the French top-flight.
Deportivo begins its LaLiga campaign at home to Elche on 18 August (AEST).
